Patrol is the bread an butter for a police department but we get treated like red headed step children. That's the way it always has been and always will be.

What's really bad at my department is honor guard. They don't give us a budget, don't give us training time (gotta find a way to train once a month), have us use leftover admin uniforms, and our bosses ***** at us when we want to go to a funeral for a cop that died in the LOD in our area to represent our agency there.
They don't really want us doing anything that will generate OT, but if one of our own dies, we better be ready to jump on the call......
Sorry, I'm a bit angry. I got my case jumped tonight by my Sgt over OT related to Honor Guard and Vehicle Maintnance.
I can't take anymore honor guard details, or take my car to fleet when I'm off duty without his approval first now.

Before joining Real Police I really believed that the only STUPID question was the one that wasnt asked.
It's about time MSP got some real equipment in their cars. I've seen the interiors of their regular units and it looks like a hodge-podge of crap.
