Hey everyone. I live in a County with several police agencies. My father has been on the job in my town for 21 years. A member of the city force right next door with 33 years on the job was hit in his patrol car by a drunk driver last night.
He is currently in a medically induced coma due to swelling in the brain and the prognosis right now is not great so if you all would say a prayer for officer
Richard Poluzzi.
A City of Poughkeepsie police officer was hurt early Friday morning when an alleged drunken driver ran a red light and hit the officer's patrol car, city police said.
Officer Richard Poluzzi is in Saint Francis Hospital with a head injury after the 4 a.m. crash at the intersection of North Bridge and Mill streets.
The driver accused of running the red light, Miguel Mojica, 30, of Wappingers Falls, was arrested on several charges, including second-degree vehicular assault, a felony, and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

Thanks to you all, so far they are keeping him in a coma in order to try and see how his body responds to the trauma. Long term recovery isnt looking good right now but we keep the faith. Tahnks to all of you again.
