My first good call at work...kinda

Well today its about 90 degrees near 85% humidity here and full gear on. I symphatize with all the officers out there espically the southern ones. Well I am just finishig up lunch when we get a call into dispatch (I am in dispatch) and it is for a domestic fight on the 2nd floor of the building across the few roads. So myself and this girl both start walking over there and I ask her if she had her daily run in. We both agreed and start running. Fault #1-Just ate and running. Fault #2.-Duty belt not on tight and holding it as i'm running.

I'm a big guy and I am keeping up with her and we get to the street start crossing it and boom nearly hit by an ambulance who decided to turn their siren on....anyways we make it to the front door. I tell my partner to go ahead up to the 2nd floor and i'll meet her up there as I am trying to get my belt half way up. (We found out also the subject pushed a doctor and nurse to the ground and just got on the elevator) So everyone is all up there and here comes this gang banger kid hat cocked and everything with a rolled cigarette in his ear and I say hey whats going on up there. At that point he said the four letter word and told me I can't touch him. So I start walking towards him and he bolts. So I told him to come back and he just does his "ghetto run". He makes a left and long story short I come around the corner and he's running down this narrow hallway and WAM! Door opened up right in front of him!!!! He hits it with his knee and that gave me enough time to take his feet out underneath him. I used a little training I learned in PPCT and he complied real quick :D. (Mandibular sp?) To end this the kid had 2 warrants. One for FTP and the other was Hit and Run with Injury?????

That's more of a disturbance or simple assault. Domestic disturbances are those occuring within the family or members of the same household.

That's why it's better to just not wear the gear! That vest only makes you sweat like crazy and come on, I mean realistically, how great is the possibility that someone would actually shoot at a POLICE OFFICER? I think they're all toooooo scared to try anything that serious.

That's why it's better to just not wear the gear! That vest only makes you sweat like crazy and come on, I mean realistically, how great is the possibility that someone would actually shoot at a POLICE OFFICER? I think they're all toooooo scared to try anything that serious.

That's what I'm talking about, I load my pistol w/ plastic training rounds, they are WAAAAY lighter, and they look cool w/ the flourescent orange paint!! Most of my gear is just a cardboard cut-out of the item that's suppossed to be there, nobody really notices...

I use rope and duct tape for makeshift handcuff's.....
