FormerBunny, I enjoyed your story and thank God that there are good, caring people out there, like yourself. I find your compassion and kindness reassuring that there are people in this world that do care about something other than themselves and their busy schedules. While I personally wouldn't have attempted to drag a wild bleeding animal into my car, I understand the emotions you were feeling. You were put on the spot and you dealt with it the best way you knew how.

    Agreed.

Formerbunny, please don't judge everyone on this site by the few knuckleheads here.

The LEO's here can be brutally honest, and I respect that, most of the time it is not in a mean way, but an informative way. And I feel they do it with tact.

But it amazes me that some chucklehead with 19 posts under his belt thinks he knows exactly what a State Trooper would do, and then proceeds to give you a beat down for it.

Anyway, I did get a chance to read your original post and I did enjoy it, it was a great story to read. If the world had more people like you, we would all be in a better position.

Even though I don't understand what my number of posts has to do with anything, I really think you're the chucklehead if you think any reasonable officer ANYWHERE would allow a fully grown, concious and injured, wild deer to be stuffed in the back of some hatchback sedan where the driver isn't completely seperated from the animal or equipped to handle it. It's just not a smart thing to do.

Granted, I am not a police officer, but I have had my share of encounters with these white-tailed bastards to know what the hell I'm talking about. If you couldn't guess, I'm from the Midwest, which has probably the worst deer problem in the country. I've also been an avid hunter since I was about 13 and something I've learned along the way is NEVER underestimate an injured deer. Anyone who has any knowledge of what these things are capable of would tell you that what she did was a BAD idea. Even though she had good intentions, the situation could have gotten alot worse really quick.

One personal experience which still boggles my mind is how a deer can be struck by a car, shot twice by D&R officers' .45 pistol, proceed to attack the D&R officer who just shot him, only to run out and be struck by another car on the very county road he was struck on minutes earlier, and still be too dangerous to approach only to be put down by a 12 guage to the head.

You should never attempt to shove an injured deer into your car, period.

You can still be an animal lover without being a dumbass animal lover ;)

    Formerbunny,

I am right there with you on the animal lover thing. Trust me. I have a lot more respect for them than I do most people, which is a sad thing to admit. I am sorry that your story wasn't well received, but it's the internet, and sometimes you need to just take things and other people's opinions with a grain of salt. ;)

That being said, I am closing this as the original topic is no longer available.
