I had an Uncle on my Mom's side that was with Detroit PD and another Uncle (the PD uncle's brother :D, yes they married sisters) who was a Captian with Detroit FD and still another Uncle who worked public works for the City of Detroit but I never really knew that side of my family. Other than a few week long trips during the summer breaks.
Other than that all my male cousins and my father were/are heavy equipment operaters in the Chicago area.
Don't know how I ended up as a Fed.
