So, the theater wanted to get more police to come to the theater as free security, but they didn't want them to be armed? That's like hiring a carpenter without a saw.

Of course, if any of the local LEOs did go to the theater unarmed, and then couldn't intervene in an armed robbery, the theater would be complaining about THAT, too...

I guess everyone with problems getting into stadiums with guns should be happy that not everyone can get in with one. I agree, the cops should be exempt from this rule, but I'm speaking from my own personal experiences here in Atlanta.

I've been to Falcons games, Braves games, and Thrashers games with either my dad or other officers who were all armed. Went through the metal detector and the security with the wands. They made sure to ask all people to remove hats and open purses to show that they weren't hiding a weaopn, but the metal detectors never went off and nobody asked the officers to lift their pant legs, shirts, empty pockets, ect...

Scary if you ask me, but I felt safe with 1-8 armed officers with me.

I don't see why it would be an issue for TRAINED LEOs to carry to football games, or public places. Just because you are not in uniform doesn't mean youre in idiot that doesn't know anything about weapon safety. But I guess it is... Liability.

...And my wife wonders why I still carry my "Active" badge, while my "retired" badge stays with the weapon...

I am waiting for the day that I still get denied admission, locally.

I was denied admission at the Lake Powell Dam in Utah, so I had to put it in the car. At The Hoover Dam, I planned ahead based on the Utah experience and the distance back to the car.

For the record, I've carried into every Casino I entered in Las Vegas, the San Antonio Public bus system and everywhere else I've been, as undetected as a perp would be... silly assed CCW laws are nearly unenforceable unless something happens or someone comes forward with a guilty conscience.

    Pretty retarded.

Cops should be allowed to carry. Duh.

I wouldn't even have a problem with CCW holders if they followed laws about consuming alcohol while carrying.
