So I get selected to test for FTO. Here it is competitive as it is a pay increase. You have to meet certain standards when you put in for it. I have the interview next week.
So I call one of my buddies in the detective bureau who sat through the interview last year. I figured he'd be good at telling me what to study to prepare. I offer to buy him lunch.
Yesterday I picked him up and we went to eat. When he ordered I tried paying and he wouldn't let me. We had a good lunch and I got the info I needed.
Today I gotta go to IA for a taped interview and my buddy opens the door with the other IA dudes in there. I'm there helping out one of our K9's on a call I was on.
I figured he's there socializing or for something like I'm on. On my way out I asked what he's doing there and he says "I work here now." As of a week ago. I laughed and told him he was a bastard for not telling me yesterday when we ate lunch. He said he thought about it but since I'm his first case he didn't want to let me buy lunch or tell me. He's waiting to interview the complainant before interviewing me. I figured out that the chick I beat up a few weeks ago is complaining on me for beating her up. Duh. What did she expect after kicking me in the jimmy? :D I should be cleared but it was a funny twist. I can see why letting me buy lunch would have looked bad.
