Gah!! I got hit in the face by LIDAR while driving

Actually I know for sure it was her Laser speed gun. While I was an explorer the traffic Lt was demonstrating it and he shined it on the wall where there was a small red dot and it showed how far we were from the wall

Hmmm...My LIDAR definately doesn't have a visible beam, and the only "aiming" device is a small red dot only visible to the operator while looking through the LIDAR. Basically it's just a red dot scope.. Oh well..

No no no no!!! I know what I seen..I am going to google this and find proof! I know I am sounding like a n00ber but I can almost bet my life this is what it was

Oh and about the EXPLORER deal, I did that for a year got tired of the imaturity in the city and I moved anyways.

Let me get this straight. She is standing on the side of the road with a HANDHELD radar. You are driving your car in her direction and she is able to hit you in the eye with the beam. RIIIIIGHT:confused:

It wasn't the range finder. It is part of the same beam and how the lidar takes its speed readings.

It was just you seeing things. Although there have been times where you can see a slight (very slight) amount of red coming from the lidar at night when the other officer shoots ya with it for fun. Hardly what I would call getting shot in the eye.

But you were an explorer so.....

Imagine how many people would complain, and how quickly city governments would ban its use if LIDAR emitted a beam capable of "shining in peoples eyes".

Actually I've seen the same thing. If it's the same light it would be the aiming reticle. The only thing I could figure was I was at the perfect angle to see the reticle being projected on the view finder glass. I thought it was weird when I saw it.....My sector partner was checking my speed while I was at work.

I was on 675 heading north this morning and coming around the corner, a MSP Trooper was out of her car with her cap on ;) and she got me right in the eye with the laser. Not complaining just thought it was somewhat funny. How often have you ever had that happen?

Umm I think but not really sure but either you blazed through a red light at mach speed and you got "owned" or you were abducted by another life form and they implanted that image in your head so that you could not remember your abduction.......:rolleyes:

I agree. I've had guys LIDAR my car while driving past them. I noticed kind of a purplish light when they do it, not sure what causes it. It's happened to me twice.
