It will also have a second battery to allow for the engine to be shut off while allowing for the equipment to still function, in the interest of saving fuel. Where I worked, the reason we let the cars run wasn't to power the equipment as much as it was a fear that it wouldn't start again.
I'm not sure how that will work unless they put a master kill switch for that second battery somewhere. No Cop I know will spend 5 minutes after shift turning off individual radars, lightboxes, siren boxes, various radios and scanners, video cameras, computers, flashlight chargers, etc.
Uh...Caprice! If only they would bring back the old V8 from the 90's. It was big, bad and roomy. Why Chevy gave them up and let Ford take the market with the Vic is beyond me. The newer body style with the V-6 and front wheel drive is not even a shadow of the older one. I'd say they are good for mall security and campus police applications only.
