    Arrow Self defense Martial arts

What do you guys think of Martial arts?

Has anyone heard of Krav Maga? It's supposed to be highly effective for physical confrontations.

    Does anyone practice this?

I seen an ad in the newspapers saying that hundreds of law enforcement agencies train with this style.

    They're offering a free 30 trial.

I'm probably going to check it out.

Krav is very real and highly effective. It has been discussed here before. Run a search and you should get a couple of hits.

What kind of school is offering it?

Be advised that the LE course is a little different from the standard civilian course. The civi course has no hold/restraint techniques.

    Krav Rocks. :D

I've tried Tae Kwan Do, Aikido, Judo and Karate, and none of them come close to the down-to-earth realism of Krav Maga.

And effective... This morning while practicing a knife disarm (love those rubber knives!) my brother 'attacked' me this morning and I flubbed the disarm and we got locked in t tussle - so he 'punished' me (showing me that he was still able to attack) with a krav elbow to the nose - only he 'forgot' to stop short of actually hitting me - CRUNCH! I went to the deck and writhing in agony for 10 mins, and my nose still hurts now, 12 hours later...

(This girl walks up to me as I was on one knee, nursing my battered nose, as says; "Go take yer skirt off, suck it up, walk it off and get back in there!" Cow! )

Many organizations have licensed Krav to offer students. Make sure they are using the Krav logo, and you might even check the Krav website to be sure you are taking from an accredited school.
