handgun and concealed weapons permit???

i was wondering how old you had to be to buy a handgun. i was also wondering how old you had to be to get a concealed weapons permit in florida. i have heard 18 and 21.

By federal law you have to be 21 to purchase a handgun and 18 to purchase a long gun. Have not been convicted of a felony or domestic violence. Not have been judged mentally unstable. And not have any kind of current protection order against you. And must be a U.S. citizen.

Here in the state of Florida, you need to be 21 to buy a handgun. At 18, you can have possesion of one though, ie in your car, house, apt. In order to carry it as a concealed weapon, you have to be 21 to get the permit. Hope this helps.
