Thank goodness I hail from a little podunk town in KS, where a gang is considered the Ladies Quilting Bee. You should see those needles fly. *g*
However, it's close enough to big cities to have gang members come through town. Don't believe we're interesting and exciting enough for them, they never stay.

I was only asking cause I haven't heard of a few of the gangs that you mentioned. The Kings are obviously a big one but I haven't heard of the others in the city. Chicago gangs are broken up into two groups, People and Folks. People are gangs such as Latin Kings, Vice Lords, El Rukns, and the Black P Stone Nation. Folks are gangs such as Gangster Disciples and anybody else that has the pitch forks up. There are a few hundred different gangs in Chicago with approximately 20-25 in my district alone. The main ones that I come across are the Spanish Cobras and the Maniac Latin Disciples who are currently at war with eachother.

Guys we have everything out here in CA. Surenos, Mexican Mafia, Crips, Bloods, Everything you can imagine with a 13 in it, going back to the M from Mexican Mafia. We have the Wa Ching's, asian gang that loves to play with their nice guns and rob other asians.

I just did a ride-along with a LA area Agency, and we did a traffic stop on a paroled Sureno, did 7 years for a strong arm'd robbery. We respected him, and he respected us and answered all of our questions. He had tats all over his chest, back and lower legs. All done in prison. Apparently he was some bad *** high up in the Sureno's. First time coming in contact with someone other than a worker bee for a gang.

If you ever need info on a gang, contact a CA Agency gang officer, those guys know way too much about gangs. They spit out info and names like you won't believe.
