Well I kinda figured this would happen, I'm playing tug-of-war with what to do. I started this job back in September as an Independant Contractor (IT/Network Administrator...basically I run the server here at work and troubleshoot it, etc) When I started, I had agreed to work for this guy and charge him 1/2 the rate that I charge regular customers, only if I am guaranteed atleast 35 hours a week.
Well in the beginning, my boss was very cool and he and I got along great. I soon noticed he was a sick pervert and fired people on a whim. I brushed it off and tried not to let it get to me. Well I made a mistake and used him as a reference for the Academy because before I realized how twisted he was, I actually thought he would be a good person to have as a reference.
Well now that the academy starts Saturday (I've already passed the PT and background checks) he gets his tighties in a wad whenever I mention how excited I am about it(mind you, I wont be missing any work, the academy is on the Weekends and at night).
So he comes up to me yesterday and plops this academy reference packet down on my desk. He says "Oh I was sent this a while ago and forgot to fill it out...but I'm going to eventually" I responded nonchalantly and thanked him for offering to do so.
Well he starts rambling off how he finally gets someone in here that he likes and they are going to eventually leave him (and he mentions how he hates Cops). I replied to him saying that it is extremely hard to get hired as a LEO and that i wouldn't be leaving for a long long time if I was to be hired. Well, he starts getting ****ty and said "Well if I fill this packet out with a bunch of detrimental stuff, maybe they will kick you out" and he walks away
WTF??? I was shocked, I almost walked out. I was flaming and told my husband about this. Naturally I want to tell my boss to get bent, but my husband said that anything this guy says isn't going to matter because for one I have already been accepted into the Academy, and I have about 10 LEO's in town backing me up with a good reference. My husband says just milk this job till I get hired after the academy.
How would you all handle this situation?
