That way you dont waste your time stopping every person of a certain race & wast your time while the real crook is escaping. Frankly I'm tired of uninformed people like you throwing out terms like racial profiling when they don't have a clue as to what they are talkig about.
Stan, I understand what racial profiling is vs. description. If you don't have a description to go on... well, it would seem many in the law enforcement world strongly believe in racial profiling. This hasn't been in the news much lately, but if you'd like I would be more than happy to share with you some examples of where my understanding of racial profiling comes from. I tried to simplify the description of racial profiling when someone asked what it was (I admit my explanations are over simplifying things, but I'm not sure how tolerant this forum is of gigantic posts.) If you disagree with my definition, please, clarify... correct me.
Instead of suggesting that I do not know what I'm talking about, I'd be grateful for you to explain it to me as you understand it. I am more than willing to listen.
Thanks,
Brian
None of that is true, DC Law. Nothing I have said regarding LEOs implies racism, power-hunger, nor lack of intelligence.Originally Posted by DC Law

Those comments aren't racial in nature...????? :rolleyes:Originally Posted by roopull
To make a racial comment & make a racist comment are not the same thing.
Racism implies a superiority of one race over another.
Either way, it does not apply to the attack... I never called any LEO a racist.
Your postings have implied it.....Originally Posted by roopull

If you dont have a description to go on, you dont just go stopping everyone of a certain race. It's wrong. It's pointless. It's not done any place I know of. Rather than spouting off like you know it all, you may just want to read quite a bit more. The more you comment on law enforcement, the more it show just how little you know.Originally Posted by roopull

I was commenting on racial profiling. I'm sorry if you feel I'm a know it all... after all, I have asked you describe racial profiling from your point of view. My understanding of it is not just stopping everyone of a certain race. In fact, if you're talking about regular patrol officers, I do not know how racial profiling could be used. When I have heard it defended, it was from an investigatory standpoint.
Considering that the assault on racial profiling was spearheaded by the ACLU, I find the ACLU & videocamera thread ironic.

"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
