That's what I heard too. I watched a lot of the coverage very early this morning and even then they had lost a lot of hope. I was stunned! Great news.

I'll admit that I wrote them off. All I heard earlier was that air tests showed deadly levels of CO. Very happy to see 12 emerge alive, but it is incredibly sad for one to have passed away. They just interviewed his niece on the radio...I can't believe how well she is handling the news.

MSNBC is now reporting that 11 of the miners have been found dead. It appears that the earlier reporting was incorrect. All the family members believed that the original report of survival was correct..this is very heartbreaking. :(

Breaking News on Fox News... 0300 hrs
Tragic news folks, as reported in an earlier post 12 miners found alive 1 passed away. It's now 0300 hrs and FOX News is now reporting the exact opposite. 12 miners dead. 1 in Criticial Condition. Family Members said, "They were lied to"... President of Mine Co, says Cell Phone Mis-comunication was cause for Mis-Information..... My sympathies to the families....

How could something like this happen though? So many sources stated the opposite, didn't someone come forward with the correct information? You'd think that someone with knowledge of the situation would have seen the headlines and tried to get the truth out...
