But I can see a miscommunication like that going like wildfire through the crowd I saw on the live feeds, even with an immediate correction following in the very next sentence. Its what everyone wants to hear and the human instinct to be the first with good news is very difficult to control.

There's something not right about this whole story. Well, obviously, there are a lot of things not right. I just have this strange feeling that in the end, things just aren't going to add up.
I am listening to NPR talk about how certain sections of that mine were shut down 15 TIMES last year for safety violations.

i know these news stations want to be the first to get the information out, but they gotta do some research and confirm that the info is legit before they broadcast it. With that power you have to be responsible.

Anyone catch the media briefing by the mining company, yesterday? The questions the reporters were asking were absolutely... well... stupid.
It's as though the only questions the reporters were willing to ask were designed to get a soundbite or to place blame on ANYONE but them for their false reporting the 12 survivors.
