I was reading about how the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are never scheduled off for New Year's Eve (related story).
I was wondering if anyone else's department/agency out there has the same policy.

I've never seen those radiation detectors before. Pretty interesting. I'll try and find some info on them.
"Fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live. At least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that...for one chance...just ONE CHANCE to come back here to tell our enemy that they may take our lives, but they will never take OUR FREEDOM!!!"
I know hospital workers who are near x-ray equipment have small tags that indicate their level of radiation exposure is. That's probably something similar.Originally Posted by do0dfromcali

I carry one every day. I don't really want to talk about them in an open area so once I get verified I'll let you guys ask all the questions you want.

This year I watched the fireworks in Edmonton in a bus stop with some transit security officers....lol best seat in the house (I parked in a loading dock). This job has SOME perks at least![]()
On my PD, patrol puts out a full shift on new years eve. No holidays other than a regularly scheduled vacations. We also have SWAT & gangs out in mass. Of course detectives have the night off except for the vice squad. Some joker decided to include us last year under the mistaken impression we have some mythical powers in dealing with licensed ABC establishments.
