    Stan Switek,
I'm curious about the puking comment, as well. It leaves me with more assumptions than answers... hey, what can I say, you piqued my interest!!!
    Thx!

    DontPullMeOver,
Did you guys just go to liquor stores, or did you hit convenience stores & grocery stores as well? I'm 31, but am told I look like I'm in my early 20s (lucky me, I guess.) That means I get asked for my ID alot. I have noticed, however, that I usually do not get asked at the grocery store, but I always get ID'd at the bottle shop - even though the owner of the shop knows me by name! I still get carded!

Another thought... a buddy of mine who works for a rural Sherriff's Dept once told me that he likes to ask the clerk when he was born after the clerk 'checks' his ID... might want to try that, sometime!:D

OH man! That sounds like fun! I want to do that. Think they'll card a mother of nine? I'm only 35. Surely I look 19!

I got carded once and only once. For buying pepsi at the local VFW. Yep, she carded me for standing in the room and asking to buy a coke. (We were having a craft sale in one of the other rooms and I was parched!)

    Oh well...

NO WAIT!! When IBC Root beer first came to our town I got carded for trying to buy that! Ahem. I admit to having a bit of fun. "Oh well, gee... I don't have my license with me, hubby drove... um well, can't you sell it to me anyway? I mean it's non alcoholic isn't it? I've never heard of rootbeer with alcohol...."

    Shame on me. :D

It is a sarcastic barb toward youthful over exuberance.

I have worked for a chain of gas stations for over 2 years now. 3 or 4 times I have had people in there working for the police for the cigarette stings. The real tell tale sign that the person is working with the police is the youthful over exuberance that Stan Switek is talking about. Granted I am a littel more observant then the average gas station clerk but it is fairly obvious. I even had one girl that came in that didn't even look old enough to buy candy cigarettes let alone real ones. The sting that they should really do is for lottery tickets. There aren't many people that will ID for a scratch off ticket.

OH That makes so much sense.

A real situation involving a minor tryign to purchase something with an age limit would do everything to avoid drawing attention to themselves and would, therefore, stick out like a nervous sore thumb.

A 'sting' kid would have to know how to act in order to avoid looking somewhat excited about buying this thing. Interesting.

    This stuff just fascinates me.

Yep, we had a list of about 35 stores, my friend an I were both in the back seat switching off every store.(We had to have the cop put the window down so we could get out, lol). We hit convience stores, supermarkets, and one floral shop. Amazingly a flowershop sold alcohol. I tried acting as calmly as possible, such as having a quick little conversation with another customer or the clerk. When I went to the super market(Hanafords), the express line was closed and all the customers let me cut them! No one said anything to me or made a wierd face. I couldnt help but smile
