There's a million things I could say about the stupidity of this woman, but I'll chalk it up as motherly love.
And sorry if this has been posted already.

I had a stick of Carefree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor, I was back to pondering my mortality. Mitch Hedberg
So he stabs an officer in the face and gets a gun pulled on him. Then jailed. Big deal. Just because he's mentally ill doesn't mean he can't kill you.
She needs to quit her whining.
I can't believe she created her own internet site over this once incident. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I did read where she got some negative emails from criminal justice students at a local college. I wonder what she expected. I read the whole thing....
I consider her son lucky for not being 6 feet under.
One Big Ass Mistake America
I agree piggy. This lady should be overjoyed that her son isn't shot. She is under the impression that it is a police officer's job to be stabbed, shot etc...
I especially liked the line about how everyone was taking care of the officer and no one bothered to deal with their emotional turmoil.
There's a nice section to send them a note as well.
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
I am only an average man but, by George, I work harder at it than the average man.

I didn't realize until I had read the entire article, then read the comments here that her son hadn't actually been shot. I thought that the officer had plugged him in the back seat of the car after being stabbed (a perfectly justified response).
The writer of the article is obviously a nutball herself and has nothing in life to do but live to stop the "victimization" of her son. Mental illness is often passed on through the generations, so it wouldn't suprise me in the least if the mother is as mentally ill as the son- yet undiagnosed (or diagnosed and not sharing the info with us).
Apparently the woman has more knowledge of the law and medicine than either doctors, lawyers, or cops. I'm not sure why she doesn't just treat her sons problems herself since she is obviously such a genius.
And lastly, I did try to send her a note through her site, but the server just gives an error when you try to send through the messages. Pity.

"On May 3rd Justin was in need to be hospitalized. His social worker as well as Justin's Dad and myself could see he needed help. I called 911 thinking that the police would take Justin to the hospital for help since the hospital refused to admit him on our pleas. Officers Aaron Stellmach and Stacy Gohman arrived at our home about 5:00 pm. My husband, Jim, and myself talked with Officer Stellmach saying that Justin was psychotic and needed to be taken to the hospital. Officers Stellmach and Gohman, according to the police report, discussed with each other what charges they could get Justin on even if it was a misdemeanor so they could arrest him."
I thought this was interesting. They call the police to take him to the hospital and the police pull up in the cruiser and discuss how to arrest and charge him. Hmmmm.... Ya, I wonder what happened inbetween the time they arrived and the time they decided to put him in the back of the cruiser. I can't imagine they just decided on a whim to arrest him instead of helping him get to the hospital for no reason. I don't take my police class until college resumes, so please correct me if I am wrong, but I didn't think that arresting sick people was how the police transported them to the hospital. It would be interesting to know the whole story of what happened, but I doubt that if you emailed and asked that she would tell.

in Atlanta we have signals and codes we use for radio talk. Cant share them all but a demented person is a signal 24. Talk about a house full of 24's.
I was able to send a wee note of discouragement, though I know it won't make a difference. My server worked fine. If you wanted to PM me your note, I could cut and paste it in for you.Originally Posted by Legoate
