Working on Christmas

I was pretty pissed having to work nights all weekend. My frustration was alleviated however at getting to take people to jail. What's wrong with people they can't be nice to each other for just one day out of the whole year???? Merry Christmas, here's your new pair of matching silver bracelets and a ride to jail. :rolleyes:

This is the first Christmas that I have worked in 12 years that I have actually had to effect an arrest(and working off duty). Some people are just plain stupid.

One of my favorite things to do is to wait until after midnight on Christmas eve (so it's really the 25th) and then write parking tickets.

Mean ?!? you say ?!?

Well it does a couple things, it shows the citizens that you weren't holed up somewhere sleeping, but actually patrolling.

Not only were you patrolling - but you were in thier neighborhood - keping them safe

And it is a "little gift" from the city or county where you work so after all the gifts have been unwrapped and they think that Christmas is done ..... there is one more surprise for them to find. :D


I used to write a book after midnight. Parking in the wrong direction - parking over the curb - if I was desperate ... Too far from the curb. There were so many to choose from. :rolleyes:

Yea, no kidding. I thought I would get through this Christmas Eve/Morning without the usual domestic. Nope, apparently that was too much to ask for. Hubby went to jail for DC-Domestic, Criminal Damage, and for violation of his probation. He was on a NO DRINK rule and blew a .18%. See ya loser, off to jail with ye.

Sounds like a plan tonight! Unfortunately I suspect we are going to be very busy. Have been all weekend.

Wrote one for 80/60 and one for 70/55 today, wouldn't have written the second one but she made me follow her for a mile with my lights and sirens on.

I am an advocate for bi-annual driver's license screenings for those over 65 now.
