I'm stuck at work to, and by some fluke I'm the OIC. But we can't really do much tonight. I don't want to even pull anyone over. We don't have any certified breath test operators working tonight so if I get an OUI... I'd have to call someone at home to come in. If they haven't been drinking. So we're laying low.

I feel you. I hope you get a chance to see your family for some sort of Christmas get-together, at least to open gifts. Unfortunately mine is 5 states away, no family get-together or present opening for me this year.

Been here for 3 hours. Going home at 0700. Glad tonight's slow as can be. Unfortunately I'm working New Year's Eve as well......sucky. Happy Holidays to everyone.

Well, yeah the sentimment is the same all around. Not where we want to be on Christmas eve or Christmas. Got the 10p to 6 a shift then back on at 2000 to 0400......but I am our boss stated we could take the day "on-call" (really small town)....

What a night! The last hour will be spent wrapping up paper work.

Had plenty of reports.

The open line 911 call of the guy that said he was robbed, stabbed, and lying in the bushes. Comm center talked to him for a little. If it was legit he probably bled out at an unknown location. Chopper, dogs, and all our tricks met with negative results. Im not convinced it was real but you never know.

Had the downtown crowd act up...I sprayed 2 guys at three in the morning when I should have been contemplating going home.

And I had to eat from a Chinese Buffet, the only thing open, and probably got bacterial menegitis from the food. Stabbing stomach pains for the win.

Not my idea of a good night.

Heh, I pulled a Scrooge, sort of.

Worked my secondary gig, got in at 1800, was there about 15 minutes with my very dull security officer "partner" (we share the gig with a security company) who makes it very clear she hates men. She proceeds to regale me with how she shouldn't be at this post because she would "hurt someone" yadda yadda, ad nauseum, when in works a second female security guard.

Lo, whats this, methinks? An opportunity to rid myself of yon bothersome trollop?

Ladies and gentlemen, the kid may look like a big ol' bear, but his mind is a bear trap.

I silently wait till she logs on, and then Shazaam! I leap up out of the chair, wish them a Merry Christmas and out the door I go. See, we are not authorized to have three personnel at the post so because the security company screwed up on the scheduling, I went home.

As I make my exit stage left, there is much wailing and lamentation from the big mouth one about who is going to do foot patrol, because females can't do it, so on and so forth. So I go back in, and get a little cross, ( not much tolerance for these idiots) and say "listen this is part of your contract. Sit here, watch the cameras, and if anything happens, dial 911, and call the people who can do something about it. Zeeya."

And with that, I went home to my son and wife who were much appreciative.
