Even though is burns, and you the officer, may get hit with it, you can't deny the satisfaction one will get when a perp is crying in pain after getting sprayed for resisting.

:D Some goof in my explorer post was looking around in the supply room and found some pepper spray in the closet that expired in 1998. He sprayed a long spray on his arm and stuck his nose right on it. He was running to the restroom crying all the way. It was soo funny. It still packed a lot of power!

I got a face full of the stuff at the EXPLORER academy, I would imagine the actual academy for the agency to be even harsher.

Heres a neat little story for you. My last name is Cook. I reacted so badly with the OC, while I was wondering around completely blinded and swollen shut, one of the Tac Officers approached me and added an "ed" to the name tag we were supose to wear 24/7. From then on out, for the last few days of the academy I was refered to as "Cooked" :rolleyes:

There were two people in my academy out of 35 that had no reaction to the OC spray. It bothered them alittle bit but it didnt make their eyes shut or water like it did the other 33 of us. Ironically this guy and girl were dating eachother. I dont know if they loaded their eyes up with baby shampoo (which I hear is a trick to keeping the spray out of your eyes before getting sprayed) or if it was just a freak thing that it did not affect them. One thing is for sure, if a perp ever sprays me I am going to defend my life because I will be blind within 15 seconds.

It sucks and its embarrassing !
