Embarrased by a member of the public?

Have you ever given a member of the public a stern telling off, only to have them prove you completely wrong?

I once was pulled over by an officer who pulled a quick U-turn and got me... he said; "You came around that corner back there WAY too fast. If there had been parked cars on the AND someone coming the other way then you would have hit them."

I looked puzzled and said; "Look - there ARE parked cars there. And YOU were coming in the other direction. And I didn't hit you."

He thought about that for a moment and said; "That's beside the point." (no ticket)
