    A few ? on carrying your firearm in diffrent states? & NYC?

    Hi, I have a few ? about carrying your firearm in diffrent states, this is all of duty carry, I have a NY full carry and a PA full carry plus I can carry on the badge.
    1. What states can I carry in ,which will honor the badge or permits?
    2.Can I carry in NYC i know on the permits Ican't but what about the badge? I have askeddiffrent people from diffrent dept and have gotten diffrent answers all time so i just wanted to be sure.

    i'm a little confused...are you a cop? some states will allow you to carry there only if you are on official business, i think missiouri is like that. i used to know a link showing all the reciprocal (sp?) states that allow for off duty carry, i'll see if i cant find it again. i read in a police magazine somewhere that there is talk about allowing leo' s to carry in all states. that would be nice, it sucks to go to another state and not be able to carry.

    This is a respones I got fromt he head pistol permit dept in NYS. The ? I asked is below.

    I can't answer your first question as I don't have information on all the other states. Your best course of action would be to check with whatever state you happen to be visiting and find out what their laws are. The second part I can answer. If your Peace Officer status enables you to own a firearm without a pistol permit then that exemption carries on into New York City.

    I am trying to figure out if being able to carry on the badge is the same as having a concealed handgun license when it comes to reciprocity. It seems obvious, but you know how the law can be interpreted so technical.
