(3) Steady red indication means the following:
(B) Except when a sign is in place prohibiting a turn described in this subdivision, vehicular traffic facing a steady red signal, after coming to a complete stop, may cautiously enter the intersection to do the following:
(ii) Make a left turn if turning from the left lane of a one-way street into another one-way street with the flow of traffic.
Same rule in PA.
Creeper Cop
Same in VA - but it sure feels funny to actually do it.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."
Benjamin Franklin, 1755
"Living in our society is like living in a very tall building. The rich live on the top floors. The poor live on the lowest floors. And only the cops travel to all the floors. Only the cops see it all."
Det. Ted O'Conner - Chicago P.D
It is the same here in Michigan. All of downtown for me has one ways so I do it about once a week or so. I don't know about Indiana but so far it seems like most states will allow you to do it.
In NY its legal (and encouraged) to make a left hand turn on red only if it is a busy interstate road that is being turned on to, and only if the traffic is running in the opposite direction that you will be traveling in after completion of the turn.
Yes, Im just kidding.![]()
Not by much, Max!
It's hard to remember that it's okay on one-way streets.
