Pronunciation of Galls (Online Police Store)

Me and my buddy are having a mini argument over the pronunciation of Galls. He says its pronounced Gals as in guys and "Gals". I say its pronounced Gols, like Balls but with a G instead of a B.

I'm tired of arguing, even if I'm wrong...Which is it?

P.S. Yes we are that bored...

It's pronounced Gawls. That's the way they answer the phones.

    It is Galls, as in:
"How dare they have the unmitigated gall to sell police badges, clothing and patches by mail order in a day and age when the possibilities of a terrorist dressing as a LEO imposter could so easily screw up national security".

Talk about items which should be regulated by Federal Law!! I can go down to my local Holloween costume shop and acquire my local city PD uniform lacking the first letter of the city name on the patch.

My former agency is handing out Polo shirts and windbreakers with sewn and silk screened badges as if they were water to Temporary and civilian employees, despite a few having been dismissed for various reasons. In many cases they are able to purchase and order as many of these things as they'd like. These items don't come back.

I'm not looking to make it difficult for bonafide LEO's to get these items, but I strenuously object to civilians having easy access, both for their own safety as well as Security concerns.

Does no one else think there is a problem, here?

Galls requires agency letterhead for anything with the words POLICE, SHERIFF, etc on them. They even require agency letterhead for security badges if they list a specific security company.

However, you bring up a good point, most of the mailorder companies have no idea what the laws everywhere are. I have one company who won't sell me pepper spray on agency letterhead, saying its illegal (Its not), while another is willing to sell me the MK 9 cans which ARE illegal, and they supply the local police department!

Understood, but know that there is no "easy access" as far as I can tell. NOW if the access is from theft (not much of a problem, but I'm not going to get into it in a public forum,) then yes, they (civilian employees) can obtain SOME items. There is zero access to any badges for regular employees.

Easy tiger, I'm not a troll. I didn't post it to get people fighting or to spam or advertise. I really wanted to know how to say it to settle it between me and my friend. I was on the site looking at stuff I may need for academy and somehow we got to talking about how to pronounce it.

Thanks to the people who answered my question, I was right.
