How many wear radio earpieces

I'm intersted to hear how many of the LEO's wear earpieces and if not, why not?

yup, wear one whenever i can, depends on the uniform i'm in, civies or full gear.

That is unreal. The earpiece is a great toold for field use. Many departments up here buy them custom fit for their officers. I can't believe more people don't use them.

We don't even offer the option of earpieces for field patrols.
And neinta, it does take some time before you can get used to hearing the voices in your head :D.

I wore one for awhile and was never able to get used to it. I went back to the lapel mic and have been real happy with it.

That's really too bad they don't give 'em the option, Stump. I'm going to bet though, you Special/Tactical teams have them??? They really provide a tactical advantage in all sorts of field operations. I use mine on both Patrol and MRT.

If they have the riot gear on, there are earphones in their helmets, but no, tac teams don't have 'em.
And yes, SS, I have been hearing those voices in my head since you were probably in diapers! :D

I wore one until somebody stole it. I absolutely loved it. The best thing was Talking to dispatch while engaged in conversation with a civillian. Got some great looks.:D The one I had hooked around your ear with the earpiece resting just inside. Never had any problems hearing calls and surrounding noises.
