Now, THAT was Old School, and I miss it.

(A few of the old timers on here did not know this Chief, but they knew men just like him and probably miss them as much as I do. :( )
    that's how it should be.

i've only been in this field for 10 years and i can tell a noticeable difference between now and when i first started. i used to work at a large agency with several "old school" cops. one of my co-workers was the first female police officer hired by the city of fort worth; she thought tubbs and crockett were panty wastes (she was in vice for years). she knew how to get things handled. i remember riding with my uncle. he carried on his duty belt, one gun, one double mag pouch for his 1911, and one pair of handcuffs.

quite frankly, i work with a few pussies. they rely too much on their tools and are scared to just jump in and take care of business. gets on my nerves. i can't imagine how much they miss when i'm not around. i'm by no means the best cop in the world, but i sure am grateful to all those "old school" cops i got to work with who passed on what they learned to me. that was more valuable than any training class.

by the way, i just got my new holster in, a bianchi 99A. sweet; no plastic or fake leather in this thing.
