I'm putting together a class on DUI legal. Over the last two years the state has had a lot of legal changes to our DUI code and it has changed the way we're supposed to do some things. It's a one day class and I'm going over a bunch of the legal changes, refresher on RS and PC for DUI stops, common problems, best practices for our agency etc. I've been reading state code and judicial decisions till my eyes were crossed. Just my instructors notes for the class is a pile of paper about an inch thick. I got power points the whole nine yards. I'm even doing it with one of our prosecutors to make sure we get their perspective into our cases.
My boss, the patrol captain says he needs legal for his certification and he's coming. I worked for him when he was an LT and he's really laid back so I'm not too stressed over that. I checked today to see who was coming and there's the Major's name (your cousin Darin.) Now that ratchets it up a bit.
Did I mention I've never developed a class before and this is the first time I'm teaching?
