    Recovered a stolen porsche lastnight

Just left the station lastnight about 1915 when I get a signal on my onboard Tracker system. For those that dont know Tracker is a system that can be fitted to vehicles and when they are stolen tracker sends out a signal which is picked up by police vehicles with the system and you look at a screen which has a direction indicator and signal strength so you know where to go.
Tracker confirmed it was a stolen Porsche from the day before so off I go.
I get other units with tracker to run to my location and after a bit of a wild goose chase eventually find it parked up a drive on false plates.
The driver comes out of the house and gives me some old flannel about having borrowed it off a mate to give it a test drive but surprisingly only knows his first name  I cuff him and tell him he's nicked and he gets conveyed still protesting his innocence.
When I get to the station I ring the force where the vehicle was stolen from and they tell me it was stolen during a burglary less than 24 hours previously.
One recovered Porsche with no damage worth approx £40,000
A snout has told me he's got a set of nostrils, so go and get a W so we can spin his drum to see if he's got any monkey gear - The Sweeney.

My last stolen car recovery was a Porsche also, a cherry red 911 Twin Turbo. Got a call about someone trying to break into a disabled vehicle on the side of the interstate. When I got there I found a U-Haul moving truck parked behind the Porsche and sure enough three guys were trying to get into the car. They said that they were helping the driver of the Porsche move and that they were following him in the U-Haul to his new house. He had stopped on the side of the road to use the bathroom and accidently locked himself out of the car. They asked me to help them get in the car and they could prove their story. When I ran the tag it came back to a Caddilac registered to the guy claiming to own the Porsche. He claimed he just bought the car and hadn't had a chance to register the car. I then tried to run the VIN but it was covered by a business card. The only thing on the whole dash was this card and it just happened to be covering the VIN plate.

I help them get in the car and they give me some paperwork showing they just bought the car. I run the VIN plate on the door and it comes back stolen from NY 3 years earlier. Turns out they bought a stolen car, which they knew. Paid $10,000 for a $50,000 car. The "owner" got charged with possession of stolen property.

Nice work! I always love the excuses we get... "Borrowed from a friend," "These aren't my pants," "I only had 2 beers" etc. How dumb do I look? (don't anybody answer that)

Good job Bill. Wish we had that tracker system.

Soooo, Did his 'friend' turn up to claim the car?
    .

If you rob a gas station, you're only going to get about $100, but I get to see a K9 dog use your arm as a chew toy. For all I care you can keep the $100.

The local metro PD here outfits thug-lookin cars with locking systems and cameras. It's so funny to see the person break in the vehicle, drive about 20 ft and the motor dies and the doors lock. All on video. I would like to be part of that division. Hook, line, and sinker. :D

I wouldn't want it back. Insurance would have already paid it off and the old saying "drive it like you stole it" has new meaning when its a Porsche. :D
