I agree with the parents. Don't the cops have any REAL criminals to catch? We pay thier salary and we are telling them to keep us safe but don't enforce the law when it's my family involved. Unfortunatly there are too many families in this country that get away with that as it is, no reason to lower the "service" of selective enforcement to the upper middle class, lets leave it as a special service for the real rich!

Sorry, but come on, it sounds like they named their town after a board game. :D

I wish people would stop trying to be their kids best friends and grow up and be parents. I spoke to this guy the other night, parent to a child I put the habeus grabus on for possession. He was upset because his kids was stressing him out because of this situation, and a couple recent others. The guy has the nerve to tell me, "I told them to smoke it at home, and not carry it around with them, if they are going to smoke it." HMMM....

I was thinking the same thing. I thought this was especially funny:
"recalled Jamie Kennedy, who was ticketed at the party. "They were unwelcome."

They were UNWELCOME? Of course you would say that - you got cited and they broke up your party, why would you want them there?

    Kids these days.

This makes me think of an article I read not to long ago in our Gannet paper here. Talking about how many Americans now believe the age of adulthood/maturity is 26 because of the increased coddeling of parents. Too many parents get involved in their childs actions in order to get them out of trouble. I see it everyday here (college security). I "get someone in trouble" and they call their parents when I am standing there and try to get me to talk to their parents on the phone. They talk about getting their lawyer and they are gonna "have my job". I write parking citations on campus and mom and dad call because "my son said that he was only in the handicap spot for a couple of minutes". Well ma'am he was actually there for over a 1/2 hour. Well can you drop the fine for him. Why am I dealing with sooooo many parents. This is college isn't it? It's amazing that this is the youth of tomorrow.

If you will, please imagine the following situation. Its New York City. Long elevator ride up to the top of one of NYC's famous skyscrapers.

    Awkward silence.

Man #1: Beautiful day isnt it?

    Man #2: Yep

    Awkward silence

Man #1: So you from New York?

Man #2: Nope. I'm here for business. You?

    Man #1: Same.

Man #2: I hear you....so where are you from?

    Man #1: Denver. And yourself?

    Man #2: Sugar Land

    Awkward Silence

Man #1: Um......I think this is my floor.

I can't imagine who would name a town Sugar Land. There is a town in NH called Sugar Hill but it's a 'maple town' (make maple syrup).....But Sugar Land???
