Is the KKK Still Criminally Active?

Cops and others...I have never lived in areas where the KKK is normally active, so I'm wondering if anyone is aware if they still burn buildings or kill people like in the history books? I'm only aware from the news that they have rally's that get quite a few people upset.

I know that the KKK still gathers and meets and is organized to some extent. And I don't doubt that racially motivated crimes are committed by members of that group. But I do not think that any 'official' KKK criminal acts take place with regularity. I think, historically, the KKK has always been somewhat of a cowardly group, almost terrorist in nature. They enjoyed working behind the scenes and not taking official 'credit' for thier actions.

I visited some friends in Georgia last year (beautiful State), and briefly met some men who were in the KKK. I was disgusted to be in their presence, but I appreciate their right to associate and believe as they will. The right to have differing views and to feel comfortabe expressing them is what makes this country so special. I hate what the KKK stands for, but I'd fight to the death to protect their right to do so.

Of course such freedom does not protect any criminal activity.

Hi Mongo. I wouldn't mind going to a rally in the future just to yell out my opinion against the KKK. I'd like to see people verbally fight them. I'm not the type to block buildings or demonstrate in ways that bother the police or general public though.

The KKK MAY be cowardly or not...I don't know. But I know they don't think with proper, logical, and also American reasoning.

Unfortunately they are alive and well in Missouri. They have had cross burnings just outside the town I live in. Currently black churches and businesses in Kansas City are receiving hate mail from someone signing the letters KKK.

Many of the hate groups are still active just not getting much media attention.

the KKK is alive and well. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center (Morris Dees) , the KKK burns a cross a week somehwere in the US, commits a hate crime several times a week in the US.

The Pointed Heads are of course hiding behind the sheets and free speech .... but they are more dangerous now than in years past.

What is worse than the KKK? The Arian Brotherhood. They are one of the few jail gangs that will hurt and kill CO's (not even the NF or MM will do that most of the time) - and they exist in a lot more places than people believe.

There used to be a major enclave of the little b---ards in Castro Valley until the SO arrested most of them. In Cordelan, Idaho there is a major compound of these hate mongers.

I dont like the KKK they just little cowards behind white sheets with attitudes...they adopted a highway in Missouri...People here in Missouri run there signs over with 18 wheeler trucks, and litter on there highway like hell...I dont support racist groups expressing what they feel or not...thats just like supporting violence to me...

I support beatings and killing of KKK members themselves. I personally don't give a F*c* weather they live or die. I would be happy to abduct and beat to death a few KKK members but the thing is here they basically keep their idenititys hidden. They have rallys in the next countie (Glouchester) but besides sein them together in their white sheets they don't brag about it because they are *******(women genitalia)

you know racism is just a form of ignorance, and "cults ( regarding this topic only)" if you will" is just a form or semi- organized ignorance. Basically by your post to this thread, you are doing basically a form or reverse racism. you are being no better than those individuals that start rallies and do what ever they do.

in reply to the rest of the thread. I live just outside of DC and being in the military i have had to pass the word to my marines that they will not go to DC, for fear that something will happen to them, not becuase of the person that they are, but becuase of the government that they represent. For one of the rallies though was my understanding that the KKK and the black panthers were in the area and going to rally or march on the weekend. that was i think a couple of months ago. so i believe becuase of this they are still active. i am not sure though if they are as violent as people dipicted though.

Allusivewolf, The KKK jumps to conclusions about people who do NO wrong, and Justen may be generalizing about a whole group of people (the KKK), but what type of people would support a group like that by joining them in the first place? How much info. would you need? And, I'm not thinking you are supporting the KKK.

Justen shouldn't ever respond with violence because the cops and others have to treat everyone fairly, for one thing, and allowing them a chance in court. But I don't see how what Justen would do (or wish he could do) or how he thinks, compares to them when they have NO facts to base their opinions on; and who did what first? They have been doing stuff for years and NOW ...he's giving his opinion. Some may just be anti-American so far as being racist, etc. and only bother people in ways, but other ones have done violent acts throughout history. If their group doesn't support what their members did in the past, you'd think they's say they got carried away or something.

i have to agree with america, you are right, he probably was expressing his own opinon, and being general.

i just think that racism iin its intirety is just a form of ignorance, and you know i dont condone it , but i have to deal with it being around etc. that is not going to change. It was like overseas, you can be as nice to people as you possibly can , but they still hate you becuase you are american , it is just such a controversial subject, kinda of like the polygraph lol sorry, dont want to get that one started again. but i dont know it is just something that the world can do without ,, and that my friends would be a perfect room, and thus wouldnt need a chat room, because there would be no cops needed.
