Are there noise laws in your area? When I lived in Poway Ca. your radio couldnt be heard within ten feet of your car, Im not sure what the law is in Va. But i am tempted to crank up the stereo now and then.

In VA, the noise laws are written by the individual county or city. There is no VA code for having your music too loud. My county's law is 50 feet from the vehicle.

Blah, ous is written as "......considered a nuisance". So basically, if you don't like what is being heard, you can charge. :rolleyes:Originally Posted by ChesCopPodz

There's the disturbing the peace law.
My neighbor use to have weekend parties with bands alllllll the time. Hated it and so did the other neighbors. Who wants to hear the song YMCA 3 or more times a week for 4 years. The nice neighbors all got together and called dispatch everytime. Officers responded and told the noisey neighbors they had to turn it down and cut it off by 10: pm.
I think they must have gotten a box full of citations for playing loud music along with other things they were doing wrong.
marine...in my city the noise ordinance is if you can hear it 50' from vehicle. And it is strictly enforced in Bedford city....we will even jump in the back of your truck to enforce it. ROFLMAO :D

I beg to differ. I can ride through various spots where people cruise and I don't see many 30 somethings through whatever blasting their stereos. Mind you I do understand that there are exceptions to every rule.Originally Posted by tenfour
