thats the only thing that i dont agree with. the whole let me check your unit and make sure that the brake cylinder is polished. as long as the unit is kept clean on the outside, and on the inside, i dont see the need for inspections. the fact that i have a clean car does not affect my performance as a police officer. there are agencies up here that get very anal about that whole thing....i just dont see the point. now equipment such as guns and holsters, duty belts, uniforms, thats a differnt story. run your car through a car wash every day, va***m it out at least once a week and you should be good to go as far as i'm concerned.
I do what I can do when I can do it.

We have take homes too with the usual keep clean and keep up the maintaince etc. but I notice that nobody mentioned being able to transport family in them. We are lucky enough to be able to use Dept cars for taking kids to school, spouse to work, shopping etc. Pretty much the only restriction is can't leave the county and can't use it to go out partying etc.
Of course we have to carrying ID, Badge, and gun, and must stop for accidents etc. at least until an on-duty arrives. Anybody else allowed to have family in your Dept. Vehicle?

we can too, i use mine to pick up my kids from school from time to time. i dont like doing it though, anytime i drive my car i feel like a target, makes me feel like one even worse with them in the car.
I do what I can do when I can do it.

I agree Lfpdlieu302 but I have an umnmarked so I don't worry as much as when I had a marked unit.
