Regarding Physical Fitness & Prepared Readiness

I noticed the poll on this topic and it closed before I got to ask a couple of questions. What does your department do to encourage or keep their troops prepared, ready, and physically fit? Batman's last department paid their gym membership, gave them an hour of duty time to train/workout, and they also do a fitness test twice a year. I thought they were spoiled because they got to call out an hour before their duty ended so they could go to the gym. SPOILED, but I guess prepared. The current department that he's with has pretty much the same thing but there is no good gyms around here and we live soooooo far out that they just ordered him a nautilus system for our home. I stand firm on my opinion that these guys are spoiled. Heehee!

Thats a good policy. The place I work now had something like that I would definetly take advantage. This should be a workers rights issue. Imagine if everyone got paid an hour to go work out, the obisity rate would drop dramaticly
Its astounding, time is fleeting and madness takes its toll, but listen closely, not for very much longer, cause I've got to keep control...

We have 3 hours of fit time available to operational personnel, work load permitting.. You must be current on your fit test. Fit tests are administered bi-annually.

One must take the fit test bi-annually, but you are not required to pass it.
Messed up? Sure. But we're the only federal agency with a mandatory fit program.
