Picked up my uniforms for the academy today. They're Roebucks tan khakis and tan short sleeve shirts. I thought, hey this may be cool, maybe i'll look somewhat like a Sheriff in tan. Hell no, I look like a walking lunch sack, like the ones we used to take to school. Oh well, it's only for 3 months until I get my black uniform. (insert random cursing and muttering here).

HA HA HA HA!!!! That is the funniest thing!! I love that description. I am sure you look better than you think you do. After the first week of the academy, you will forget about the uniform! GOOD LUCK!!!! I'm always around if you need me. as I am sure the other LEO's are.

For some goofy reason, when I went through the academy many years ago, we had to wear khakis. Silliest thing I ever saw. They quit making trainees do it a few years later. Hang in there and make the best of it. Good luck in your career.

I had the same type of uniform, all khakis, while walking through my apartment complex, I had a guy stop me to complain about all the outside light bulbs not working. He thought I was maintenance.

:eek: :( I hope it didn't attract the scorpion-looking bugs. It did on my son's bright yellow shirt. He came home full of it from school and he took it off fast and he was upset so we threw his bright-yellow shirts in trash. I've no idea why the color can attract the scorpion-looking bugs.

Paper sack...I love the analogy. Well, don't feel too bad, I looked like a used car salesman (dark navy dress pants, white collared shirt with patches, tie, ridiculously shiny blacks shoes).

Thanks Star, but even my wife thought I looked like the lunch ladies nightmare. That's okay though, at least there's gonna be 5 other people who look equally ridiculous.

Our uniforms are ok.

We wear black polo shirts, BDU pants and black boots. We're getting new BDU shirts with patches, but I'm not buying any because mine work just fine and I'm grandfathered into the old shirt.
