    TV/Movie Reality v.s. Fiction

Whats the Most realistic TV show/movie that you have seen that dealt with law enforcment, and whats the most unrealistic show/movie that youve see.

The Military has ruined alot of movies for me, I just wonderd if being a cop will do the same thing. (Grenades do not blow up in a huge ball of flame, takeing out a city block, sorry just dosnt happen.)

    Most realistic: Barney Miller

    Least realistic: Cops (just kidding).

TV and reality huh? ANY law or cop show. Barney Miller was the last good one.

i'm in the same boat with the military movies. I could barely tolerate Blackhawk Down, and I walked out of Thin Red Line..

I actually thought Blackhawk Down was pretty good with a few exceptions, but Rangers I know don't like it.

Heartbreak Ridge, dumbest movie ever, and Apocalypse Now looked stupid enough that I stopped watching afrter the surfing in combat scene.
Al-Jazeera needs to show insurgent blooper reels.

I thought that S.W.A.T. was just about right on....especially when it came to the part about the Captain playing his political games as to who would be chosen for the team and why.

Would anyone care to PM me an explain what it is wrong with Black Hawk Down?
I really enjoyed the movie, but I have no understanding of military life, just curious to know what service members have to say about it.

I can't remember the name of the movie... but it had the guy who played the silver metal Terminator in T2.

It's about two SWAT teams going against each other. One was a rogue PD unit, and the other was FBI.

The SWAT guys were actual PD swat personnel.

    I think this is it...

I couldn't stop laughing at the SWAT team in "Leon: The Professional". They came from the "lets-breach-a-room-one-at-a-time-and-hold-our-assault-rifles-up-to-the-ceiling-while-peering-around-corners". I guess this movie was before the time of technical advisors...

    Yup thats it... good find.

    Realistic tactics, good gunfights.

Running gun battle through an airport. In the DVD they talk about how they had to warn landing passengers that a movie was being filmed.

    SWAT was good.

Best I think was 44 minutes.

Worst is Hollywood Homocide or TJ Hooker.

Do you remember the Saturday Night Live skit on TJ Hooker with William Shatner? He jumps onto the hood of a car and as it is racing down the road with him on the hood, he radios in on his portable that someone tried has to run over him with a car.

The dispatcher replies, "Were you able to jump onto the hood?" :D

I agree with Heartbreak Ridge. I actually saw that at the theatre. I've never been in the military, but I did like Full Metal Jacket somewhat.

How dare you say TJ Hooker is bad. ANYTHING with Heather Locklear is good. If for no other reason except that she is in it.

Oh I agree with that part fully, but it's not very realistic in the police part.

Actually my absolute worst is CSI. I can't stand that show. If I had a nickel for everytime someone mentioned that they thought we should do this because that's how they did it on CSI, I'd be able to retire now.
