Former Chief of County Detectives doing time

Our FORMER Chief of the County Detectives ( under the DA) has just started serving his 11 1/2 to 23 month jail sentence for felony theft.

During his 10 yrs in the Det. Unit he rose to the position of chief. In his last year of employ, he quit and took several confiscated handguns with him. About 8 months after he left, they did an audit of all property and determined he had them. These were NICE guns, not cheapies. They got a search warrant and went to his home and even though he claimed he didn't have them, they were found hidden in his basement.

He was charged with felony theft and receiving. The case has wound it's way up through the appeals process and just recently the PA Supreme Court declined to hear it.

Myself and others arrested him while he was still a Det. due to his repeated violations of our twp. dog ordinance. We warned and warned him and the neighbors were up in arms over it. He just didn't think we would do anything to him.

I'm curious how this 'audit' found he had the weapons? Did he personally sign them out or something?
