77 pounds of cocaine, valued at $10 million, found during routine traffic stop

77 Pounds Of Cocaine Seized In Orange County

VIDOR, Texas -- Orange County deputies found 77 pounds of cocaine with a street value of about $10 million Wednesday in two gas oxygen cylinders in a pickup truck during a routine traffic stop.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department said in a news release that it took two men into custody on charges of possession of a controlled substance. Their names were not released pending arraignment. One man was from Huffman and the other from Channelview.

Deputies stopped the vehicle for failing to signal a lane change and for failing to drive in a single lane. Deputies said the cocaine was wrapped in cellophane packaging.

I would be extra careful on my driving if I were a drug dealer, but I guess dope sellers are not that smart.

No, it's what we call "support your local police". We let a few go through so that the state and locals get the opportunity to find stuff. After all, if you look at the CG's records, 77lbs isn't that much, the CG usually measures in tons not pounds. I would say the same for customs but we take whatever we can get, althought the last couple years have been record years for our narcotics seizures.

Ironically, even with us at the border, we usually catch the large dope smugglers we catch because their doing stupid stuff like not having thier act together. I actually got 10lbs of hydroponic MJ off a guy simply because he started mouthing off to me and yelling and swearing because he didn't feel he should have to answer any questions. I had no interest in him untill that point which resulted in us searching his car and finding the dope. Had he kept his mouth shut and just answered the few standard questions I asked I would have let him go.
