Let me clairfy if I might, for purposes of Jurisdiction in Indian Country, California and 9 other States are considered PL 280 states. In 1953, The US Government reverted criminal jurisdiction for offenses occurring on Indian Reservations, back to the States. Most states with Reservations, except for 10 states have given Tribes criminal Jurisdiction
