    This sucked.

So I am going to grab lunch at a carls jr. around my work. I am driving up and make a right onto a busy street. When I made the turn I noticed a LVMPD cruiser behind me. then as I get up to the oncoming street two more are there...... I was just thinking wtf....and i got lit up. pulled to the right into a kfc parking lot. Someone swapped my plates with stolen plates from same make color and vehicle...I had a felony car stop on me... made me sooooo scared.. anyways i thought it was a fun story...Im back to work now, still a lil edgy...

Honda's are one of the most stolen vehicles out there. Glad you could chuckle from the experience.

    haha That does suck!

My Dad works for a construction company and they have brown work vans. Well Dad was working down in Wabash and one night on the way home, he was being tailgated by an ISP car. A few minutes later, he passes another ISP unit that turns around in the median and gets behind them also. Then he notices a car from the Sheriff's Dept. of whatever county he was in. Then he gets lit up. He pulls over and while he's sitting there, here come another Trooper running lights and sirens from the other way that crosses the median and pulls up there too.

Three Troopers come up to his van, two on the drivers side and one on the passenger side, all had their guns out. The fourth cop stood behind the door of his car. None of them came to window just stayed with their backs up against the van and talked to Dad in the mirror. They kept telling him to keep his hands on the wheel and don't move. He said this was probably one of the scariest moments of his life. Come to find out, a van had been stolen at gunpoint from Herman & Goetz, another construction company from that area that has the same vans at Dads. They apologized to him and gave him a warning for 64 in a 55.

I told him about your story and it made him laugh. He want's to let you know that he knows how you feel!

I'd give Oscar the Grouch ten bucks if he'd call Elmo "Numbnuts" and then hit him with a shovel.

I just have a hard time believing that someone would steal license plates then put them on your car.
I wouldn't, it's quite common here. Thug steals a car. Thug knows that when the owner reports it stolen that the police will be looking for the tag so he finds an identical car and swaps the tag. Most people won't notice that the license plate is different on their car (unless they have a personalized plate which the thugs avoid) and the thug has a "clean" plate.

I mean no dis-respect DC, but it happens here quite frequently. Not just plates, but reg. stickers also. I don't trust the screws anymore, I use bolts from the backside of the bumper, that way if someone tries stealing them, they will fight it for a couple minutes while the bolt turns and the nut doesn't.

I personally know a few people that have had theirs stolen. How often does one look to make sure their plates are still there? Pathetic when you think about it. Plates off a Dodge Ram on a Toyota truck, that's adding insult to injury!

Well golly gee..... I would have never thought about that. I think I'm going to memorize my new plates so I'll know if they've ever been changed.

    Thanks!!
