Story for you guys

Friday night 2315 hours.. about 15 minutes after shift change. I went through my first "disturbance" working at Tent city..

We have different tent yards separated we have an unsentenced male's yard that is separated by a large gate.. then the sentenced male's yard which is broken down into 4 yards.. then the female sentenced yard which is separated by two fences..

In the unsentenced yard we have a skywatch tower that looks over the 16 tents that are in the yard.. Well I was patrolling the sentenced yard with another officer.. Our sky watch tower called out that we had a large number of inmates throwing rocks at each other and fighting..

So my partner and I did the 100 yard dash to go into the unsentenced yard.. We get to the gate and they are still throwing rocks.. We kick the gate to make enough noise to hopefully spread them out.. about 2 seconds after we hit the gate the gate slams back.. Well 3 inmates threw another inmate into the gate..

My partner and I go through the gate.. There was about 40-50 inmates around on the yard.. just beatin the crap out of each other.. We make the radio calls..Get other officers there in a hurry we came out with Mega Devastaters and Pepper ball launchers.. Situation went code 4 with in 10 minutes.. All in all no officers hurt.. 1 inmate with a severe head wound.. and 37 inmates removed from our facility and put in max security now.

Yeah and this was all happening in the pooring rain..

Only 2 officers went into a yard of 40-50 fighting inmates? Oh heeeeeeeelllllllll no!

Yeah.. crappy as it can be.. thats about how it goes down..If the tower officer would have given us an amount over the radio. we would have waited.. but.. hindsight is always 20/20..
