If you have a partner while your on patrol and you are both equal ranks, does the driver have seniority?
Thanks!

However it is worked out, SOMEONE is senior. Usually, if rank is the same, the date of appointment determines seniority. If they were appointed the same day, order of appointment is the determining factor.
Right now, I'm on a temp assignment and have a partner (normally we patrol solo). He's been on several years longer than me. We share a cruiser, and we usually takes turns driving...and it's normally for the entire shift, as he's 6'3" and I'm only 5'6", so it's a pain to change the seat and mirrors.

Here, all police are given a egistered number when they graduate from the academy. This number is not recycled, inumber 1 would've been the first police officer in Victoria. So, number 34567 would be senior to 35890.
For graduating squads, your number is determined by where you finished overall.
So, if both the same rank, it goes on that number.

If you rob a gas station, you're only going to get about $100, but I get to see a K9 dog use your arm as a chew toy. For all I care you can keep the $100.

Every time you hear on the news about people running away from a crazed gunman, someone's son or daughter in a police uniform is running TOWARD that crazed gunman.
Have had a similar problem in seniority. We hired two reserves on the same day. Had to come down to who we hired before the other. That's just the way it worked out.
As far as driving goes we usually break that up. One drives a part of the shift etc. Usually when i'm driving with a newer guy I let them drive the car, they get their kicks from it, ya know?
If i'm training someone they always drive after the first day.

When we ride double ( only in the winter during storms) , we just take turns. Seniority is established at time of hire. I was hired the same time as 2 other officers. They were both given seniority over me because they had already been to the academy. I since have made Sgt. and am now over them.
We are issued badge numbers in order. The lower the number the more seniority. It's pretty easy to figure out who is the ranking officer.

The person with the most time in has the most seniority.

Does everyone want to drive the car? From what I gathered here, some of the "older" guys dont want to drive as much as the younger ones.
