"Intentionally Ramming"?
That wouldn't fly here, we are not permitted to intentionally collide with a vehicle, we don't even do the PIT manuever.
EDIT: On second thought, there is probably an exception for lethal-force situations.

I agree with their actions; glad none of the officers were killed. Once the suspect opened up on them like that, I'd see ramming as simply responding with appropriate deadly force.
Dang, did you notice the tactics the BG used?
And waht was the trooper doing who was crouching with a long gun? Was he reloading or just keeping cover while being pinned down?

99% of the time the BG would run or sit in the car with the weapon.
Gotta keep on your toes, if the officer had not noticed he could have been killed.

It looked like he had fired several times when he is first on the screen. You can see the empty shells being ejected. I think he was just trying to see through all of the smoke at the end.Originally Posted by txinvestigator1
But, that was a good way to end it. Why stop and shoot when you are driving a three or four thousand pound car? :D

Just responding to deadly force. My entire academy class was posed a question like that "What would you do if you are the backup officer arriving at a scene where fellow officers are pinned down. All of my classmates answered get a good position and engage. I said I'd run him over.

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time

I agree. There was no better way to take BG out of the game under those circumstances.
If you slow down that clip right when the officer rams the driver door of the tuarus, you can see a handgun fly out towards the upper right hand of the screen.
I can see where the officer just kept his foot into it when the guy turned to fire at him
We had a incident similar to that here. BG had a knife and was holding police at bay. Cops got into car and when BG came outside, they drove over him!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
As for this guy, sucked in, hedeserved it. I think it was a good use of resources considering the circumstances
