I won't mimick everyone else. I work in a rural area where back-up is a long ways away at times. Some days I am the only one working. So like it or not you have to play lone ranger. Good Job

My advice is to let them know from the door that if they don't break it up I'll be sending in my polar bear. But for obvious reasons that would not work there. :p

this crusty old deputy told me a long time ago that you never get in a hurry to a fight call. his theory was that if you take your time, by the time you get there they'll be too tired to fight you and everyone will go quietly.

if we have to take a prisoner to the county hospital downtown you can bet your sweet arse you're going to be there for a minimum of 8 hours.

We almost always work 2up, and if we were alone (1up) we would be ordered to stay outside and wait for back up. However, in the circumstance you described, I fully agree with what you did. Sometimes, you just can't wait.

. Well this rinky dink hospital in the city I work can't set a frikken broken bone! I have to transport this toad to another hospital about 25 minutes away after being at that hospital for over 2 hours.

Boy, isn't that the truth. I've been there twice over the years and both times I had to leave and go strait to Roanoke Memorial because they couldn't handle the smallest of problems.
