Drug test and poppy seeds

Since it sounds like the problems are more with OTC meds, I'm not as nervous. I guess I'll find out in a few days. Thanks for all of the information. However, any additional info would still be appreciated for future or other members.

All of that information is readily available to anyone capable of using a search engine on the web. I personally, do not think its a particularly smart idea to post that sort of information here, nor is it something I would discuss even in PMs in depth with anyone but a verified LEO, or perhaps long time member of the board. No offense, but there are way too many people out there looking for ways to beat drug tests... and that is something that I dont want to personally encourage.

Well, anything containing hemp oil... but lots of over the counter meds can... from Ibuprofen to cold remedies.

Are you sure about hemp oil? I am a professional soapmaker and I have this oil in my arsenal of products. I don't even think it's even food grade, but the product I buy is from cosmetic oil supply houses. On the MSDS sheets it states that it has none of the psychotropic qualities/properties in it bc people inquire all the time. It's in quite a lot of the popular bath and body products these days. You may be using it and not even know it.

Hemp oil is occasionally used like other supplements... It contains Omega-6, Omega-3, GLA and essential fatty acids. So its really only going to be an issue if ingested. One would hope, people dont eat their soap ;)

not to beat a dead horse, but I was told that if opiates (opiates are made from poppies i think) show up on a drug screen from the food you ate, the lab has a pretty good idea that this is what it is from. If you tell them you ate poppy seeds (and they usually ask before the screen) then you should be o.k.. I tend to avoid them though as I am in process to become a Trooper and don't want to have to explain - even something as innocent as eating an essa bagel . . .

Poppy seeds arent a normal part of my diet, so that isnt something that I personally would worry about. But Ibuprofen IS, especially now that Im running (trying is more like it) and that can show up as THC. (As can a few other OTC pain relievers)

But every work related job screen I have ever done, they have always asked about any and all meds you have taken in a certain period of time, so I dont wirry about it.

Mouthwash will not only cause you to test positive, you can get drunk off it. It'll eventually kill you I suppose. There is a homeless guy that we've arrested numerous times that goes to the dollar store, buys cheap mouthwash and gets drunk. The only miracle about it, is that he's still alive.

I worked at a work-release center a couple years ago and had an inmate go off on leave. I called him for a .pbt after he had 2 beers. He went into a panic, and somewhere along the way he heard that if you eat coffee grounds and drink mouthwash it will clear it up. Needless to say, he was puking his guts out when he got back. Sent him to lockup anyway.

About 8 years ago before meth was popular, I tested positive on a drug screen. The tester forgot to write down on the form that I was on some prescribed drug (can't remember what one now), but whatever it was caused me to test positive. Luckily he remembered what I told him and I was hired.

For those of you from Michigan or surrounding areas, I was told by a Deputy that if you drink a large amount of Faygo Redpop (no other flavors will do it) that it will cause you to test very low on a .PBT. I don't know what he meant by large amount, and I've never had the desire to try it, but I'll leave this one up to you.
