Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, please!

Folks, I found out recently I have breast cancer, and Sept. 4th had a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. They removed the lymph glands on the left side, 2 of which tested positive for cancer. Will go to an oncologist to discuss treatment options on Oct. 1. My husband, son and I are leaning on our faith in God and I have a peace about this. I know the road will be rough but we're not walking it alone, and I'm looking forward to the day I can do the Race For The Cure as a survivor!

You'll make it babe. You have support -- from God, your family, and your online family here. I'll be here if you need me.

Stump and Dan, thanks so much! I knew my online family would come through! People have been wonderful, very positive and supportive. Talking about it has helped a lot, plus I know I have a lot of folks praying for me and my family.
    Again, thanks!

    Hello bbuie!

I'm sure if you're strong enough and get help from your friends and family everything will be fine. My dad hat cancer and he survived it. He's fine now for more than 10 years ..... without cancer.

I wish you all the best.
    Take care,
    eric

BB, I just want to let you know that I have been thinking about you, and I wish you luck at the doctors office tomorrow. Bring 2 pads of paper (one for you and one for hubby), a list of questions, and I highly recommend a tape recorder so you can replay it once you get home. I know that you are going to have a lot of things thrown at you at once, and you will probably want to research these options yourself also. Having a tape recorder allows your mind to LISTEN and ask questions without having to be forced to remember the answers verbatim. I know that's what I did, and I was so glad I did it.
Good luck, and you will be in my prayers.

I can offer little comfort because I can not feel your pain and I can not ease your worry I can offer some lifting thoughts to your walk of faith through the words of my favorite song.

" All things work for our good, tho sometimes we cant see how they could. Struggles that break our hearts in two sometimes blind us to the truth.
We walk in present knowledge and he sees the first and the last and like a tapestry he's weaving you adn me to someday be just like him.
God is to wise to be mistaken, and God is to good be unkind. So when you dont understand when you dont see his plan when you cant trace his hand TRUST HIS HEART".

I hope the words to this song help you grow spiritually as well as physically. They carry a message the world could use and from the sounds of it a boost in faith for us all.

    God Bless you

SgtK9, thanks so much for the encouraging words! I can't say I know why this happened, But I know we'll come out of this stronger for it. I keep praying somewhere along the way I can encourage someone, as others have me. I've also realized my strength is not my own, but comes from God. I am in His hands, and as the song says, He's not mistaken!

Folks, went to the oncologist Tuesday. She scheduled a bone scan and abdominal scan for this next week, just to make sure the cancer hasn't spread. Will go to the hospital this morning to have a chemo port put in, will start chemo (6 months) probably within 3 weeks. Prognosis is 85-90%. God is taking care of us!!!!
Thanks so much for all the prayers and support!
