    Pre-academy workout

    I have just been informed that I will be attending police academy dec 11. Right now I'm working out 4 days a week. Lifting and running. I lift one body part each day and run about 2 mi (increasing weekly). Is there any certain things I should be doing to get ready for the academy. I want to start now so I can be in great shape when I go in and not have to worry about the PT and concentrate more on the books. Thanks Matt

    push-ups, leg lifts.....strengthen/endurance while working out with weights. example: bench press, then the next be a ton of push ups (front lean and rest position). Do alot of ab work. All of this in addition to the running.

    This is the way my academy worked, don't know how yours will be. Start drinking alot of water now, and through the academy to keep your muscles hydrated.

    Squat thrusts...
    Stairs....
    Hills....
    Sit ups.....
