i've been to quite a few. that's the only time you'll see a bunch of tough teary-eyed cops. there are usually a couple thousand people and the precession of police cars spans a couple miles. it really gets to you when the helicopters do their fly over when the bagpipes are playing amazing grace. sadly, they have that down pretty good.
I had to go to two LEO funeral last year. I hope I never have to go to another one.

I've attended a funeral for a fallen park ranger. The way that touched me was incredible, but I wish so much that that's the last one I'll ever have to attend.
Your words touched me Tony.

We lost 2 officers while I was on. I was on-duty and unable to attend the 1st. The second officer was a friend of mine. He actually took MY spot in traffic when I went back to patrol, and he was using my former call number when he was shot and killed.
The show of unity was overewhelming. I learned more then about camaraderie than I thought possible.
Tony, I pray that it consoles you to know the intimate feeling every cop, former and retired cop feel with you. Be safe brother. We all lost a little with you.
