    Question Green card

Hello everyone! I have not written in a while, feeling very tired and overworked but I am going camping today for a while so that should rejuvenate me. I need a break from the city traffic, paranoid sergeants and an ungrateful public. Just one of those weeks when every person I arrested now has a personal vendetta against me and the ones I did not arrest wants to lodge a public complaint so I should have arrested them anyways... but anyways, enough ranting. I had a question for all the americans on the site, what is the process for getting a green card and why does a guy who is before the courts on charges from my division have one? He is a Canadian citizen. Could he even cross the border? What is the purpose of getting one? Is it to be able to work in the U.S.?;)

Good question! Have you checked out the INS web site for information? And, maybe an INS agent can answer that one.

just for info, I'm not positive, well I am for us (the US) but for an American to travel into Canada all we need is a birth certificate and ID. That's all I've ever needed to produce and I usually go up to Montreal with some high school buddies once a year. So, I would think that he could jump into America with same items, but I'm not sure.

Oh, and I don't know anything about your other questions. (sorry :()
